Hello! Any returning listeners may have noticed that "geometrical dashing" has been mentioned as causes for the brewery of some of my music!
That's why I'm making this announcement.
I started producing music 4-5 years ago because of Geometry Dash. Artists like Dex Arson, F-777, Waterflame, Garlagan, and so many more made music that I loved so much. EDM was unpopular in my home, so when I first heard all of these incredible artists and songs, it was a challenge to produce them because it wasn't an interest to anyone but myself.
Despite this, I still tried my best to pursue music, starting on Soundtrap making silly trap beats and rapping the most unserious and terribly loud lyrics you've ever heard. Although that start wasn't anything major, if I hadn't done that, my obsession with production may have never seen the light.
Fast forward a good few years, and I'm still spending at least 30 minutes a day (if not way more) sitting in the studio tampering with sounds and trying to create every genre I can. I never wanted to be one of those artists that have a designated genre and style because I loved so much music and wanted to make it all (nothing against artists with their own sound, I think having your own sound is awesome and is frankly the reason I've come back to so many artists).
Nowadays, I just produce stuff for fun, making music for me and my friends to listen to while we play Rocket League or just for fun. As of late, I had the incredible opportunity to talk to F-777, who taught me more about Newgrounds and scouted my profile for the first time. Maybe a week later and I got my first frontpage. This all happening is incredible and helping me get on the road of accomplishing the dream I had when I was listening to all of those wonderful artists:
Making music for Geometry Dash.
Although RobTop hasn't had the opportunity to clear my page for use on GD (he's a very busy man, yk, with 2.2 being so close and all), but when he has the chance, if he chooses to do so, the dream will have reached it's end, and I will be able to go on knowing I didn't let little 10 year old trocodiliac down.
So, what's this got to do with a collab? Wellll, when these songs do enter GD, my friend and I have many exciting ideas, but neither of us know much about the creator. We're hoping to find creators who are interested in collaborating to help us make the levels we so desperately desire (I'm getting out of hand with these adjectives..).
What are the level ideas? They are as follows:
The Approach - It would use my song "The Approach". The decoration vibe we are shooting for is a dark spooky forest, perhaps with some spooky faces splattered across the level. The drop would take place in an underground catacomb hidden in the forest that the player must trek through and escape in order to reach their destination! Optional idea: Implement a skeleton boss fight awoken from his peaceful catacomb-slumber. At the end of the level, the player would emerge in a world of happiness and happy clouds and happy rainbows!
Target Difficulty: 10 star (Medium or Hard)
The Arrival - It would use my song "cathedral". The decoration vibe we are shooting for is a happy rainbow vibe (like a next-level Geometrical Dominator type thing) and circles for the drops. In the beginning of the level, you are just trucking on through a very happy land full of sunshine, rainbows, green grass, and happy (but dangerous) clouds! It would be formatted similarly to a circles level (weird cube with light memory, ship with slopes, ball with memory, cube doing classy drop drop drop jump drop drop drop jump). As you get nearer to the drop, you can see remnants of a nine circles level (what we are calling "the temple") in the back (pillars and shards faintly glowing as a circles level would). The closer, the more abundant and more intense the pulsing would get). At the first drop, it would just be a stereotypical circles level, however we would like to use other game modes than exclusively wave during the drop while maintaining the circles effect. For the interlude, the world player would enter the temple's court yard, where the sunshine and rainbows return, although the background is still littered with circles debris that is glowing. As we approach the second drop, we notice something mysterious floating in the back. Uh oh.. The second drop would be a circles-themed boss fight. How we'd execute I'm not sure, but it's the dream we've got so far. This level would likely be a much longer project than "The Approach". At the end of the level, you escape the temple, but the player falls through the ground and into a spooky cave..
Target Difficulty: 10 star (Insane)
Unlikely Culmination - It would use my song "industry". The decoration vibe we are going for is a dark, grey themed cave area with some lava shenanigans a bit further into it. The opening of the level would be the cube falling into the cave. The corridors will be tight and stressful, and the level will be spooky with many hidden faces and things watching from the dark corners of the cave.. The gameplay would be slow at first as we are slowly crawling through this cave, but as we get deeper, we get closer to the core of the planet. Things start getting hot. Lava is bubbling a boiling, waiting to claim the player. There can be gameplay where lava is bouncing up out of the lakes, or really anything we wanted. This level doesn't have as many strong ideas, so collaborators will have lots of creative liberty to make this one special. At the end of the level, you would finally climb out and be in a seemingly safe land, with no scary twists.. (maybe we can slip one out if this collab does well, but for now, that's all we've got!)
Target Difficulty: 10 star (Extreme)
That's all for the collabs! These are the ideas we have, so if you are a creator or know a creator looking for fun project, let me know and we can start getting everyone together to talk about plans! Feel free to add me on discord if you'd like to discuss details. My username is "trocodiliac"!
